Do you know what you are doing every day? Do you keep track of your daily activities? I believe that our success and achievement is the accumulation of our daily activities and it is well worth the time to understand what type of activities we do on a daily basis.
Set Aside At Least 30 Minutes each day to plan and review what your activities will be like.
Here are 10 things to do to keep you on the right track:
1. Have a feeling of gratitude.
By being grateful for the things you already have, you attract and send intentions towards the Universe that you are open to more positive things to happen.
2. Review you goals.
3. Spend at least 30 minutes each day on each of your goals.
For example, if your goal is to lose weight by the end of the month/year, then spend 30 minutes doing stretches at your desk or in between breaks (this adds up) and after work you might go for a walk or simple exercise routines to fulfill the 30 minute quota.
4. Write a journal.
There are many benefits to journaling. It helps me to improve my writing skill and enable me to jot down ideas and thoughts I might have on my blog and other matters.
Sometimes when we encounter complicated problems in our lives, we cannot always see the forest for the trees. So by writing down your problem and understanding the causes and consequences we manage to resolve them much better than when everything is in our head.
Also the act of writing helps me with toning down stress and I can keep track on my progress in terms of problem solving and helps me to maintain perspective on things throughout my life journey.
I am currently using The Journal. The Journal is a journaling software with a well designed user interface.
It allows you to drag and drop photos, audio, or video into any journal entry to make it more media rich. Plus you can do searches within your journal to look up some of your old entries via keyword search.
There is even a stopwatch and timer for your to keep track of your time spent writing journal entries. There are a lot of other features within this journaling software and I highly recommend it if you are planning to use a software instead of pen and paper to write down your thoughts.
The software is not free though; it currently retails at $49.95 but there is a free 45-day trial version for you to test and review what the software has to offer before you buy. Or you can either order it from them directly. For more information about the features, you can check out their website.
I personally find the value of this software incredible considering I always write a journal anyway. Using this software allows me to look up old entries and add images and other multimedia and improve my writing ability. There are also privacy and security features that are enabled too so you can be sure that it won’t be accessed by others.
5. Visualize your end objectives.
If you are thinking to become a millionaire in the future, then visualize that you already are a millionaire. The key point is to put your feelings and emotions into anything you imagine or visualize.
It should feel that it has already happened (in your mind) rather than just wishing that it will happen.
6. Be mindful of what kind of people you decide to surround yourself with.
There is a famous quote by motivational speaker Jim Rohn: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Basically what it means is that the people you choose to spend time with will ultimately influence who you become in the future.
So let’s say your goal is to become a millionaire but all the people you spend time with are either having difficulties making ends meet or they spend their free time partying and just being happy with the status quo.
There is nothing wrong with that life style but if your goal is to become wealthy, then understand that by partying all the time, you won’t progress much in terms of earning money.
Becoming a millionaire is not so much about the physical money but rather that they possess the right mindset, skills and attitudes that enables these people to achieve their riches. Don’t underestimate the power of your peers and ensure that their behavior and attitudes are congruent with what you want to have either now or in the future.
It does not mean that you cut off all contact with them if you find out that they are not congruent with what you want to achieve. Rather it is more about reducing contact with them if they don’t enable you to become a better and successful person.
7. Make sure the room you are working in is inspirational and conducive in achieving your goals.
In addition to making internal attitude shifts or actions to achieve our goals, it is also important to pay attention to your physical environment.
Decorate your office (or the place where you spend the most time) with all your favorite inspirational quotes, pictures and other decorative items. Ensure that your work table is clean and free of clutter.
Invest in a good quality comfy chair. I believe that positive external reinforcement is just as important as internal reinforcement (affirmations, positive thinking etc).
8. Spend some time contemplating.
It could be meditation, saying prayers, listening to your favorite music or taking a bubble bath. At least let yourself be still and free of any worries for at least 15 minutes a day. It will definitely improve your mental clarity and thinking, particularly when you are going through a stressful period.
9. Have Unlimited Vision.
This idea is inspired by my husband because he likes using the slogan “unlimited vision”. It means the same as thinking big or dream big.
But I like my husband description because it says that your vision is truly unlimited. Just dream and envision whatever you want to be in the future. don’t place any limits whatsoever on it: money, worries, problems, nah. out of the window you!
It is wonderful to have a big vision in mind and let it plant a seed in your mind for it to sprout in the future.
