Everyone has his or her own fears.
They’re different for each person.
Their reaction and the level of terror and anxiety that they feel in the midst of that thing (fear) they consider as either dangerous or threatening is relative.
Maybe they had a certain bad experience about it, or maybe there was an accident that caused a trauma?
Still, fear is all in the mind so here are a few encouraging words to keep in mind whenever you feel like you are being consumed by your fears:
“If you are pained by external things, it is not they that disturb you, but your own judgement of them. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgement now.” ~ Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
“There is no illusion greater than fear.” ~ Lao Tzu
“I have to face the fear. I have to take control of the situation and find a way to make it less frightening.” ~ Veronica Roth, Divergent
“Sometimes, when we want something so badly, we fear failure more than we fear being without that thing.” ~ Matthew J. Kirby, Icefall
“It’s OKAY to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.” ~ Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass
“To escape fear, you have to go through it, not around.” ~ Richie Norton, Résumés Are Dead and What to Do About It
“Once your past no longer has the power to define you, your future is, quite literally, yours for the taking. Every single beautiful thing you could possibly want or imagine will be yours.” ~ Dan Pearce, Single Dad Laughing: The Complete First Year
“Men are not afraid of things, but of how they view them.” ~ Epictetus
“I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit.”~ Dawna Markova
“There are two basic motivating forces. Fear and Love.”~ John Lennon
“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. Except a creature be part coward, it is not a compliment to say it is brave.”~ Mark Twain
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’
You must do the thing you think you cannot do”. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
“Decide that you want it more than you are afraid of it.” ~Bill Cosby
It doesn’t matter what you’re afraid of.
What matters is how you deal with it and move on with your life.
