Have you ever imagined something and it came true exactly the way you thought about it?
It might sound something scary like sorcery or something absolutely cool like telekinesis, but for some people, this imagination thing actually works wonders for their lives.
A living proof is Hollywood icon Jim Carrey.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1997, the now 52-year-old actor said he had nothing back in the 1980s when he used to visualize himself hanging out with top notch film producers
and people in the industry whom he respected.
The Dumb and Dumber main cast said he would do his positive visualization of himself every night as he drove, because it was what he has always dreamed of.
He wanted to be with producers who admire his work and he wanted to be surrounded by directors who want to work with him.
And all of that visualization happened a decade before the popular Oprah Winfrey interview.
Along with this visualization he did every night was also recognizing what he has now and what he will have in the future.
His positive ideology at that time when he wasn’t a household name yet was “I may not have it now, but it’s out there for me”.
Jim Carrey revealed in that same interview with TV legend Oprah that he also wrote himself a check of a whopping $10 million because he dreamed of getting that amount of pay for his talent in acting.
He gave himself three to five years to achieve this dream.
And boy, he made it.
Jim Carrey said that in 1997, he got the real $10 million pay check for his performance in the movie Dumb and Dumber (which is expected to have a sequel sometime this year or in 2015).
So the rest is history for Jim Carrey. He starred in numerous unforgettable comedy films that touched people of all ages.
He went on to become the comedy superstar he is today.
And much of the credit he says came from those nights when he visualized himself as a well-paid actor and comedian.
Jim Carrey is now an influential speaker of spiritual awakening, the power of intentions and visualizations.
But don’t get his ideology wrong: imagining things does not guarantee the materialization of it.
So you might keep on visualizing yourself as a winner in a lottery for months, years, and you will wonder why it isn’t happening the way Jim
Carrey’s visualization came about.
Think again, are you really participating in the lottery? Are you really buying tickets?
Don’t expect anything to happen, even simple and petty things, if you are not exerting an ounce of effort in it!
Even Jim Carrey made that clear. He combined visualization with working hard and look where he is today.
Jim Carrey aims to get this message across because he simply wants other people, regardless of their standing in life, to be successful in their own endeavors.
You could do this too as a gift to yourself.
Motivate yourself to achieve higher things through visualization and work hard through it.
